The RSS looks to be useful because it allows me to find very important information or information that I find interesting by going to just one place, igoogle. Without Igoogle, my time would be used less efficiently if I had to go from website to website looking for information.
Although RSS is efficient for people to use, I highly doubt that I will continue to use RSS. I actually like taking my time to surf from page to page. I have a hard time believing that I would use RSS to get education news too. If I did use RSS it would be for pleasure reading and not for education news.
I already knew what to expect when using this and I just don't find it useful enough to continue to use. I am not doubting that using RSS will save time and bring the information to me, but it is just not a product that appeals to me.

Emergent Technology #2 MonkeyOn
1. Technology Name- Monkey On Your Back
2. Monkey On Your Back is a way to create an online to-do list reminder to other people. When you use Monkey On Your Back you fill out a "monkey" to-do list for someone else and the "monkey" will be sent to the other person's email to remind them of what they must do. The "monkey" will be sent to the person once a week until one week before it is due and then the monkey is sent every other day. If checked properly, Monkey On Your Back is almost a guaranteed way to remember your duties.
3. When I tried out Monkey On Your Back, I found out how easy it was to use. All you need to do is fill out a to-do "monkey" and hit send and the reminder is sent to the person. In order to try this product out, I sent a "monkey" from one of my school email to my personal email. I received the email which just reminded me that I had a job to do and I have the option to "kill the monkey" if I don't feel like I need any further reminders for that duty.
4. Here is a screenshot from Monkey On Your Back.
5. This product is very easy to use and is FREE as long as you use less than 5 active "monkeys" at a time. If you are forget easily or someone you are counting on forgets easily, give Monkey On Your Back a try.

Emergent Technology #1 PhotoShow
Name of Technology: PhotoShow
Description of PhotoShow: PhotoShow is a website that allows you to make a slideshow of pictures or videos. To make a slideshow, you must upload your pictures and videos from your computer and then you can design the slideshow with the templates that PhotoShow offers. PhotoShow makes it very easy and fun to create slideshows of photos for you to show off to others.
How did I learn to use PhotoShow: PhotoShow is very easy to use and very user-friendly. I had no problems learning how to use the technology. It is very self explanatory and easy to understand. Any person can use PhotoShow and it is especially fun and interesting to those with creative minds or those who love to take pictures and show them off!
I posted an example of PhotoShow with my own pictures on this blog...check it out!
Tips/Suggestions: I thought this was a fun product to work with so have fun and be creative with it. Create as many different PhotoShows as you can and show them off!

Civil War PowerPoint
Here is my PowerPoint presentation made for Educ W200. The topic was the Civil War. In the original version of the presentation, I was able to use hyperlinks to make the presentation more interactive.
Nate Cangany
Hi, my name is Nate Cangany. I am a student at IUPUI and I'm majoring in Secondary Education (Social Studies). I am currently enrolled in Educ W200 and was required to create this blog.
To tell you a little about me...I am a student and a basketball coach at Rushville Consolidated High School. I have a real passion for coaching and I have been very successful as a coach so far, both on and off the court. My interests include my family and my friends, sports/coaching, traveling, and doing anything that will make me laugh (movies, comedy clubs/shows, etc). I'm a very laid back person and just enjoy having a good time.
I think creating a blog can be very fun and easy. It was not difficult to set up the blog and the blog is easy to use. I also think the blog has the potential to be fun because of all the ways I can personalize it and make it my own. I think the best advice I can give to someone creating their own blog is be yourself. Don't try to please someone else with your blog. A blog gives you a chance to personalize it the way you want it, so take advantage of that.
